No Win, No Fee: The Freelancers Unwittingly Working For Free
If there is one aspect of freelancing I find really disconcerting, it's the unpredictability. Not the unpredictability of jobs per se, just the bit about getting paid. It's a given that in business, even the best of intentions don't always guarantee a pleasant outcome - especially where the subject of project compensation is concerned. As a rule, it's a potential pitfall of freelancing that is easy to overcome with a strict payment policy, structured contract and milestone agreement in place - unless you think you're covered by the terms of service agreement on a freelance marketplace site!

What To Do When A Client Doesn't Pay
It doesn't matter how long you've been freelancing, or whether you're abreast of most tactics employed by chancing clients, there will be a time you'll find yourself 'cut off' by a client. Unfortunately, freelancing can sometimes be a game of roulette and more so if you're unprepared, or unsure of your rights. On the up-side, there are steps you can take to drastically reduce the likelihood of becoming a victim and recover capital/ copyright.
